Railway Museum of San Angelo

Projects

A New HO model layout of the KCM&O through West Texas and then the Copper Canyon Region of Mexico is currently under construction by the Volunteers of the San Angelo Model RR Club
This is a view of a portion of the new layout’s table with pictures of the Copper Canyon area superimposed over it for reference of what  the modelers are planning. Extensive research of the Copper Canyon area of Mexico was done before actual construction.
This is a part of the Loop at Temoris in the heart of the Copper Canyon. The River is ready for water and the village will be set in place soon. The third level of the loop in the back ground passes by the dedication sign below and 25 anniversary monument which was made up of old hopper cars forming the outline of the State both commemorating of the completion of the Rail Line.
The view below is of the same area as above but from an angle more to the left and lower when the construction of the area was just beginning. A build up of high density pink foam was used through out the project. A soldering gun with number 12 cooper wire replacing the soldering tip was then used to Carve the rocks and mountains
More pictures of the new layout and information on the area coming soon
